5 Healthy Fall Activities

Walk through a fun, pumpkin patch.

What could be better than taking your family to an awesome pumpkin patch this fall!? Not only are you participating in a festive activity, you are also burning calories while walking through the patch and lifting those pumpkins. Fell those endorphins and bond with your family this fall while enjoying this fun fall activity.

Go apple picking.

Not only are apples healthy to eat but you are also engaging in a physical activity just by going to a farm to pick them. Walking up and down the apple orchards and carrying your basket or bag filled with apples is a good physical activity to engage yourself in this fall.

Take a walk and experience all of the beautiful fall tree colors.

Go to a park at the Lake of the Ozarks or a trail near your home and just walk for a few miles or so. You can take in the beauty if fall by seeing all of the wonderful tree colors during the fall season. While walking is clearly healthy for you, this can also decrease your stress level. Take a break from work and just walk around the building or down the block.

Play in the leaves with your family.

Before you rake your leaves this year, call your kids over for some good family time in the leaves. Make piles of leaves and jump in them just like you may have done as a child yourself. This is another fun, physical activity that can be great during the fall season.

Play football.

While fall may mean “pumpkin spice” for some people, for others it may mean “football time”! Most high schools in the area start their seasons in the fall along with colleges and professionals. Engage in the football fun and arrange a game with your family and friends.
