The Top Healthy Summer Activities of 2018
Boating
Take a nice boat ride with your friends and family this summer. Not only can soaking up the Vitamin D from being out in the sun be good for your health, but just the time out on the beautiful Lake of the Ozarks with those you love can be good for your stress level. Calm your nerves and take the boat ride you deserve.
Running
It can be much easier to motivate yourself to run when it is nice and sunny outside. Take advantage of the wonderful weather we get in this area around that time of year and go for a run. Burn those calories off from all the BBQs and summer parties you are bound to enjoy and soak up some of the outdoor scenery you choose to run by.
Walking
Walk your dog or take the kids for a nice walk around the neighborhood. Take a break from the technology and do something active with your kids.
Grilling
Summertime is prime time for BBQing on the grill. Rather than going to your favorite fast food establishment and sinking your teeth into a greasy burger, grill some chicken or fish with your family outside and enjoy the time you have with one another this summer. Fewer calories, more fun.
Biking
Biking works multiple muscles within your body and can be a low impact exercise. Get adventurous and try a new biking trail this summer. The Lake of the Ozarks holds a few State Parks that have trails within them you can enjoy, free of charge. Why not enjoy a healthy, cost-effective activity that’s easy to do and have fun while doing it?
Please note: Just be sure to wear your sunscreen when enjoying these outdoor activities and to not overdo any of them. Know your limits.
