COMC Announces Patient Access Update to Preserve Quality Care and Improve Access for Priority Populations Through Dental Service Line

Central Ozarks Medical Center (COMC) is implementing a patient access strategy designed to preserve timely access to care, strengthen continuity between patients and providers, and support the long-term sustainability of healthcare services across the communities we serve.

Beginning June 15, 2026, COMC Dental will schedule new patient appointments for:
• Established COMC patients who have been seen within the last three (3) years for any service line- medical, dental, behavioral health, or vision
• Medicare and Medicare Advantage patients
• Medicaid and Managed Medicaid patients
• Uninsured patients
• Self-pay and Sliding Fee Scale patients

As a Federally Qualified Health Center and safety-net provider, COMC remains committed to ensuring healthcare access for all individuals, regardless of ability to pay. This approach allows COMC to continue serving the patients who depend on us most while preserving appointment availability, strengthening provider continuity, and supporting long-term access to care.

“This decision supports our ability to provide high-quality, patient-centered care while ensuring patients can continue seeing the providers who know them best,” said COMC Chief Dental Officer, Dr. Susan Currey. “By managing growth intentionally, we are protecting access and maintaining the level of care our communities expect and deserve.”

One important exception to this transition is that COMC School-Based services delivered through our school sites, the Mobile Dental Unit (MDU), Treatment Court, and Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) programs will continue accepting all insurance types.

Patients with questions are encouraged to contact COMC by calling 877-406-2662.
