Healthy Skin Care Tips for Boating Season 2019
Use ATLEAST SPF 15 Sunscreen.
It is SO important that you apply sunscreen to your skin multiples times throughout the day as most sunscreens don’t last the whole day. This nice weather doesn’t last the whole year here at the Lake of the Ozarks and it is very tempting to be out on the water the WHOLE day, which is fine, just make sure your skin is protected.
Limit your time in the sun.
As we said earlier, it can be tempting to be out on the water, the entire day, during boating season. However, that doesn’t mean you have to be directly in the sun the whole day. You can put your shade up on your boat, if applicable, or you can cove out in a shady cove, or you can just take breaks and dock your boat and go inside for snacks, etc. and get out of the sun for a while.
Protect your skin with proper clothing.
You don’t have to be exposed in a swimsuit only, the entire day. There are several longsleeved shirts to choose from, some of which are even meant for swimming. You can also wear sun hats. sunglasses, long swimsuit cover-ups, etc. The point here is to make sure your skin isn’t exposed to the sun the whole day.
